George Kambosos vs. Jake Wyllie – Boxing Betting Prediction

GEORGE Kambosos Jr faces a potentially tricky assignment on Saturday as he faces replacement opponent Jake Wyllie in Sydney. The Australian super-lightweight champion has stepped in for Daud Yordan at late notice and has a chance to step up to the next level.

Kambosos (3/50) will be looking down at Wyllie, having mixed in world-class over recent years. George was last seen losing by an 11th-round knockout to the legendary Vasiliy Lomachenko in May 2024. ‘Ferocious’ had never been stopped before, so this was either a wake-up call or a sign of where his career is heading.

However, Wyllie (15/2) is taking the class leap here. 15 KOs in 16 wins is quite the statistic, even at the level they’ve been achieved. If Wyllie can stick his head down and get stuck into Kambosos early, then who knows what might happen?

Still, it’s tough to pick the younger man, given his relative inexperience. Coming in on less than a week’s notice, fighting a savvy veteran campaigner like the Aussie-Greek is a big ask.

Wyllie has been caught cold and hurt before, in his sole loss to a 0-2 fighter. Therefore, Kambosos to score the stoppage is interesting. The straight stoppage price of 4/9 is pretty short, so Kambosos, inside the distance, in the second half of the contest, is a decent 21/10.
